On yesterday, December 21,
the General Prosecutor of Iran, Qorbanali Dorry-e Najafabady has demanded the execution of seven
people accused of distributing pornographic videos in Tehran. Dorry-e Najafabady was speaking at a gathering of senior judicial and security
officials, by calling defendants as Mofsed-o-fel-Arz, requested harsh and
speedy punishments for individuals convicted of this crime which within Iran’s Criminal Policy means speedy sentencing to
death penalty.
He said “they should be treated as enmity with God, disruptors of moral order and
corruption on earth (moharebeh and ifsad fil-arz).”
Jamal Karimiraad, the speaker of the Judiciary, announced the news in his
weekly meeting with reporters, stating that those arrested are accused of distributing
pornographic CDs and that the general prosecutor of Tehran, Saeed Mortazavi,
has formed three criminal files for them in which they are accused of rape and spreading of obscenity.
According to Karimiraad, 35 defandents have been arrestd and the primary accused is the owner of a photography shop. After his arrest,
his shop was been shut down and the judiciary has asked the union of
photographers to annul his work permit. Although 35 people were initially
arrested, all but the abovementioned seven were released.
The film is thought to be two
years old, but surfaced as a CD-ROM and on some websites last month. The
scandal has become so prominent that Tehran 's hard-line chief prosecutor, Saeed
Mortazavi, decided to personally handle the case.
It has been claimed
that in one of the CDs, a famous TV actress named Zahra Amir Ebrahimi is seen
having sex with her boyfriend. However, she has strongly rejected this
accusation. Furthermore, Raad stated that this particular case is very
sensitive and has specific complications.
In recent years there has been an increase in the illegal distribution of
impermissible videos of private parties, weddings and especially women-only
swimming pools, which have proved to be very popular. One of the most famous
victims of this illegal trade was Ali Daaei, a famous Iranian football player,
whose wedding was filmed and broadcast over the Internet within a matter of
minutes.

passing the execution for distributing of such cases by parliament shows that judiciary force has not take into account the great principle of criminal law i.e. the LEGALITY!because this demanded punishment during the comission of that crime has not been passed yet.
